File

These are the basic components of the document. A file may be a TIFF image, CAD file, HTML, PDF, Word document, AVI sound bite, movie or software source code, for example.

Note: At this level we do not talk about renditions, since a rendition is a type of file with a relationship to another file.

Note: The use of ‘page’ as a description for this object is not appropriate since a word file may contain multiple pages, or a multi-page TIFF file is a single file with multiple image pages.
